HE IS A GOOD ACTOR HE KNOWS JUST WHAT TO SAY WHEN TO SAY IT ANDYOU KNOW THE REST I FELL FOR IT. I AM IN LOVE AND I WANT TO WORK ON THE RELATIONSHIP BUT IT TAKES TWO WORKING TOGETHER BECAUSE RELATIONSHIP ARE WORK. I KNOW I SHOULD JUST WALK AWAY.

Can a Christian who has the Holy Spirit living in them have demons? If so, can you show me scripture? I know there are people in the Bible during Jesus’ time on earth that were demonized, and there were people in Acts, but they weren’t believers until after they were set free. Thank you.

Hi Stephanie,
Thanks for the excellent question: can a Christian who has the Holy Spirit living in them have demons?
Stephanie when you say “have demons” that can be answered two different ways:
1. Possessed by demons indicates the individual has allowed entry for demonic activities to take place; where demons have gain entry into their life dominating their thinking and behavior.
2. Oppressed by demons, specify they have no entry but constantly harass the individual to gain entry or to manipulate their thinking and /or behavior. This generally takes place when a believer is in the church but exhibit carnal thinking and behavior.
Demons are spirits they have no physical body but they desire access to human bodies to exemplify wicked and evil behavior. Since they do not have this access they oppress the individual in their mind trying to gain access and possession. When a Christian has the Holy Spirit living in them He the Holy Spirit should be dominating that life. The Holy Spirit should be the head of all functions and decision making capabilities of that individual.
In the book of John, 16th chapter and the 8th verse Jesus explains the purpose of the Holy Spirit’s coming:
1. Reprove the world of sin and of righteousness and of judgment. Reprove means to accuse, convict or reprimand.
2. He will guide you into all truth, He will tell you things to come – (John 16:13). As your guide in life He will steer you into all truth He will also teach you things and if He can tell you of things to come that means He can communicate to you and with you.
3. He will glorify Jesus – (John 16:14). This means He can lead you to give praise and worship unto the Lord.
If you have the Holy Spirit is in you and He is having His way with you, His fruit will be seen through your life; and His fruit is: love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control – (Galatians 5:22-23).
If we allow the Holy Spirit to have His way in our life we are being led by the Spirit of God and no demon can have any control over us, they will fear us! Allowing this to take place Luke 10:19 will be fulfilled in a Christian’s life: Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
Stephanie I hope I have answered your question, if any more clarity is needed feel free to contact me again,
